Bruce Dawe: Life Cycle
His biography acknowledges one of Australia’s best-known poets. His life cycles were poverty, perseverance and personal ups and downs. The rhythms of his being were the rhythms of his poetry: sensitive and lyrical about painful concerns; fearless in speaking out on social and political issues; witty and satirical on just about anything.
This is the first time that Dawe’s life has been interpreted in full through his poetry. The subject is telling much of the story in his own words – in evocative, easily read poetry.
